The Men's Initiative for Jane Doe Inc. (MIJD) is a collaboration of men's outreach projects throughout the state of Massachusetts organizing support from men in their communities for Jane Doe Inc. statewide and its member organizations locally.
Purposes:
- To encourage men and boys to speak up in ending sexual assault, domestic abuse and oppression
- To connect and support male leaders of all ages and backgrounds with projects to end violence and oppression
- To build men's partnership with women in the work to end violence against women, men and children.

Harvard Men's Website Launched

Our prevention specialist, Gordon Braxton, has been working with some students to create a website encouraging men to speak up about gender inequality and interpersonal violence. It was recently launched and I thought some of you might be interested in seeing how it turned out.

SALEM - Candace Waldron. The airwaves have been filled with people asking why Rihanna is getting back with Chris Brown. Since she is not financially dependent on him; they are not married and do not have children together, some of the obvious reasons do not fit.

The Attorney General's Sexual Assault Task Force and the Portland State University Women's Resource Center, in partnership with the National Organization for Men Against Sexism, are seeking presenters for the 34th National Conference on Men and Masculinity, "Roots of Change: Men, Sex and Justice." The conference will be October 28th-30th, 2009 at Portland State University in Portland, OR.

It is alleged that R&B singer Chris Brown was physically violent and abusive toward R&B singer Rihanna. The alleged abuse occurred on their way to the Grammy Awards on February 8, 2009 in Los Angeles, California. If Chris Brown is guilty of these charges, like all men who are violent and abusive toward women, he should be held accountable.
